Palmatory and Johnson worm their way to first!
Scott and Ryan Hopping win first Mark Twain Division Points Title!
Cooler weather, clear skies and a northerly breeze greeted the teams Sunday morning as they pre paired themselves for the season ending tournament of the Joe Bass Team Trail, Mark Twain Division, sponsored by 154 Marine. Fishing, by most reports, had gotten a little tougher over the last few days leading up to the event as the lake level was down below 604’ more than 2 feet below pool and generation through the dam was at best minimal, scattering the fish.
On with the results, rotating through a series of points hopping a big worm, the team of Donnie Palmatory and John Johnson found the right 5 bites weighing 13.86lbs. claiming their first Joe Bass Team Trail win! They also had the Day’s second Big Bass at 3.84lbs. Congratulations Guys!
1st Place
Looking for their second Joe Bass Team Trail win of the year but falling just short with 13.54lbs was the team of Kenny Grothoff and Ray Skinner. They also fished main lake points, rigging Brush Hogs in 4 to 12 feet of water.
1st Big Bass & 2011 – 154 Marine Mark Twain Division Champions
Coming in third place for the day but winning the overall points championship was the team of Ryan and Scott Hopping. They cranked, wormed and jigged up 5 fish that tipped the scales to 13.42lbs. They also had the Dennis Hanks Chevrolet Big Joe Bass, a fine fatty that fell prey to a crankbait early, weighing in at 6.10lbs.
Scott and Ryan will be Boat #1 for the entire Mark Twain Division 2012 season, sporting Joe Bass Team Jackets and paid entry into the 2011 invitational this October.
Pro Packs were supplied by Chompers, BTS Protectant, and KVD line and lure.
1000yd. spool of Seaguar Invizx 100% Fluorocarbon was won by the team of Donnie Palmatory and John Johnson.
