JOE BASS KICK-OFF PAYS OFF
BIG
Over $3600 in cash and prizes!
Wayne Fowler the first to take advantage of the Charger
Boats "PUT IN WITH THE BEST" Bonus
Extreme conditions were faced by the extreme fishermen.
The temperature on Saturday morning, January 19, 2008 at
the 7 am take-off was 4 degrees with a wind of 10-15 mph made
it feel well below zero. The high was to be 15 degrees by
tournament end. Conditions were tough without a doubt, but
the Joe Bass Anglers are even tougher. All boats fished
until the final minutes.
The
team of Wayne Fowler of Springfield, MO and Bob Capps of
Strafford, MO brought in the winning weight of 11.85 lbs (4
fish) and 2nd Big Bass of 4.89 lbs. They stated that they fished
toward the dam in water around 41 degrees. They did not
catch a fish until after noon. Lucky Craft pointers were
the ticket. Wayne switched to Table Rock Shad color and
the bite was on and the money was on the way to the bank.
Including a $1000 cash bonus for fishing in a new Charger and winning.
What a way to welcome Bob back to fishing in a circuit.
Both members of the team are sponsored by Charger Boats,
Chompers, Sport Boats USA, Joe Bass Team Trail and Luck”E”Strike.
W Fowler & B CappsThe team of Jim Young of House Springs, MO and Joe
Chase of Pacific, MO brought in the second place weight of
11.50 lbs. just missing out on that 1st place check. Stick
baits were the order for the day. The late morning bite
and early afternoon was the key. Warmer water (ha ha ha)
you know low 40’s was needed it appeared. $1000 in gift
certificates from F&A Marine was presented to them for
their efforts. They also will enjoy the two $25 Everharts gift
certificates presented to the team 1st out of the money.
Enjoy guys and thanks. Sponsors include Ranger Boats,
Nameoki Marine and Mercury Outboards.
Team of Gary Phelps and Don Watson both of Rolla, MO had
the 1st Big Bass that hit the scales and a respectable
5.45 lbs. This fish (here is a surprise) was caught on a
stick bait. The presentation had to be slow to get the
bite.
Pro packs from
Chompers and Joe Bass Team Trail were given
as draw prizes.
