JOE BASS TEAM TRAIL PAYS BIG AGAIN AT LAKE OF THE
OZARKS!
Gary Phelps and Don Watson the second team to take
advantage of CHARGER BONUS MONEY!
The weather was by far better than the kickoff
tournament but conditions were still less than
perfect. Take off temperature setting at 35 degrees
and a water temp not much better and a threat of heavy
rain in the forecast set the stage for the 2nd LOZ
Division tournament. Once again the Joe Bass anglers
were ready to take the challenge.

Gary Phelps and Don
Watson both of Rolla, MO came in with the winning
stringer. They had 1st Big Bass with a weight of
4.91lbs.. The winning weight was 10.24lbs (3 fish)
was caught on stick bait in clearer water up on the
north shore. The team weighed 3 fish and stated they
only had 4 bites and all of those came before 8:30
am. Tough day on the water but a good day at the
bank. Gary is the proud owner of a newer CHARGER boat
which earned him the $1000 cash bonus from the
factory. They also pulled in another almost $2600 in
cash and prizes. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! Two tournaments in
a row for this team to have Big Bass also. They are
sponsored by Marty’s Marine and Bill Davenport. |

Wayne Fowler of
Springfield, MO and Bob Capps of Strafford, MO brought
2 fish with a total weight of 3.90 lbs to take home a
2nd place check. Wayne said they had no fish until
afternoon. They made the track up to the dam area to
find these fish. Stick bait was the order of the day
again for this team. Water clarity was slightly
stained. They are sponsored by Charger Boats. Joe
Bass Team Trail, Luck ”E” Strike Lures, and Chompers
Baits. |
The team of Shannon Harrison of Belton, MO and Jerry
Crosthwait of Warsaw, MO, brought in 2 fish with a
weight of 3.48 lbs to finish just out of the money.
Not to go home empty handed though they received the
EVERHARTS $50 gift certificate that is given at all
LOZ tournaments for first out of the money. They are
sponsored by Metro Supply, Anglers Port Marine,
Ranger, Mercury, Jewel Baits, and Hummingbird.Pro
Packs from Chompers and Joe Bass Team Trail were given
out as draw prizes.
