01/04/20 Winter

It is hard to believe that we’re at the halfway point in the 2020 Joe Bass Team Trails Bull Shoals Division season already! 27 teams ushered in the new year after a pre-tournament round of dock-talk at Buck Creek Marina. Contrary to the first two events, the lake level is back to normal winter pool, temperatures returned to seasonal norms after a few days of above average, and as usual, the caliber of the Bull Shoals anglers proved accurate as 17 limits were brought to the scales. Popular tactics included Rock Crawlers and Warts with jigs producing key fish.

Topping the field with the Sport Boats USA Key to Success winning bag was Drew and Brock Tabor. Their best five bass pushed the limit pushed the scales to a stout 20.25 pounds. With an anchor of 4.57 pounds, it was clear their entire stringer consisted of hefty Bull Shoals bass.

Alan Tucker teamed with Ron Weiss to wrap up second place accolades. The pair weighed a five fish limit for 18.60 pounds to take the runner position. Adding to their purse, Alan and Ron took the Ozark Chevrolet Big Bass honors for the event with a 5.24 lunker.

Veteran Bull Shoals anglers Dave Crisenberry and Keith Hannaford leaned on the crankbait bite to secure third place. They were rewarded for their efforts with a solid 17.44 stringer, narrowly missing big fish honors with a 5.03 kicker fish.

Kelly Jones and Roger Satterfield proved it pays to fish a Skeeter boat as they took the Sport Boats USA Highest Finishing Skeeter, putting 14.74 pounds of bass into their Skeeter boat.
The next Bull Shoals Division event will be January 18 2020 at 7:00 a.m. Be sure and show a bit early for breakfast burritos and coffee compliments of the crew at Buck Creek Marina!
