02/10/24 Bull Shoals

25 teams convened at Buck Creek Marina for the best breakfast burritos on the lake and to participate in some friendly pre-tournament banter. Talk centered on a decent bite with quality being a bit harder to come by. With 17 limits presented for weigh-in, the prognosticators were right on in regards to numbers and the forecast for a tough big fish bite panned out as well as there was only one fish over five pounds weighed. With the season winding down, every team launched with the goal of seeing their names at the top of the Window World Leaderboard while stoking away valuable qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next fall.

Continuing their dominance of the winter pattern, Eric and Dustin Blevins topped the field with a 20.98 pound limit, nearly identical to their 20.83 pound bag from the previous tournament. Eric freely shared their Mid America RV Key to Success was running as many bluff end points as they could hit, working A-rigs all day. The bulk of their final bag came during the midday hours.

John Hill and Kevin McCellon took the second place spot with a solid five fish limit that locked down at 18.79 pounds. They also leaned on “the rig”, boating 20 keepers on a great day, including the second big bass that weighed 4.90 pounds. They got off to a quick start, boating several fish early, followed by a midday lull. However, the bite picked up later in the day as they made a few critical culls prior to returning to Buck Creek for weigh-in.

Wyatt Marler and Nick Lawler continued their strong season with a third place finish. Their best five for the day weighed 17.42 pounds. Similar to the second place team, they noted catching lots of fish with around 15 keepers boated for the event. They also found the fish biting early with the bite tapering off as the day wore on.

Tyler Duggins soloed the event and walked away with the NAPA  big bass, a stout 5.16 pound largemouth. The big fish bit an A-Rig and was one of the first fish Tyler boated early in the morning.

Landon Edwards and Cody Ellison wrangled Skeeter honors again as they fished from Landon’s 2012 ZX21 Skeeter.

The fifth and final event of the Bull Shoals Division has been rescheduled for March 2 with a 7:00am takeoff from Buck Creek Marina. Like us on Facebook & Instagram then send a Thank you to our sponsors.
