Another twist in the weather presented itself to the 46 teams that battled it out at the penultimate event of the 2026 Joe Bass Team Trail Table Rock division sponsored by Blackbeard Marine. Temps early in the week were in the seventy degree range while Friday and Saturday highs struggled to make the 40’s. Tournament day brought clouds and wind early, breaking to sun for the weigh-in where a stout bag was needed to see one’s name at the top of the Window World leaderboard. Before getting to the fishing, a couple of administrative notes are in order. First, Joe Bass continues its commitment to integrity as polygraph tests were administered at the conclusion of the tournament. Second, a fish care note; There are way too many fish being brought to the scales that need to be fizzed. It’s our responsibility as anglers to take care of our fish as they’re caught.
Now on to the results!
Larry Selig followed up a money finish in the previous event by taking it all on a cold day. Larry’s best five T-Rock bass locked the scales at 21.62 pounds and was anchored with the 2nd place big bass of 6.04 pounds. Larry noted his Blackbeard Marine key for success was shaking a Bass Pro XPS Rock’n Shad. He did most of his damage early but had a key cull later in the afternoon. In addition to the winner’s purse, Larry also landed Top Skeeter honors as he fished from his beautiful 2023 ZX200 Skeeter.
Justin Garner paired with Jabob Wade to take second place. Their 21.24 pound bag narrowly missed top honors for the day. Their sack was bolstered by the Wilson Truck Sales big bass of the event. The brute pushed the scales to a whopping 6.41 pounds! They worked through 25-30 keepers on an all day Damiki rig bite. They had a couple of key fish, including the big bass, on a jerkbait.
Dakota Pierce and Cody Huff rounded out the top three. The duo’s five fish limit weighed 17.73 pounds. Dakota noted they relied on a jig-n-minnow rig to catch 10 keepers throughout the day.
