The 2024 Table Rock division kicked off on the heels of several weeks of phenomenal fishing. Great weather conditions greeted the 70 teams that gathered at Ahoys to ply their trade against some of the best anglers in the region. Dock talk suggested it would take a limit north of 20 pounds to win and upper teens for a team to find their names at the top of the Window World Leaderboard while also garnering valuable qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next fall. Dock talk proved to be accurate this time around.
Gordan and Travis Harriman started the season in perfect form as they took first place. Their five fish limit locked the scales at 21.44 pounds. Gordan and Travis explained their Window World Leaderboard approach involved “scoping” with a PJ Legacy Shad swimbait, produced by Legacy Tackle Company, on a jig head. They worked through 25-30 keepers to amass their winning weight.
Justing Garner and Jacob Wade notched second place honors. Their best five bass weighed in at a stout 20.87 pounds. They also leaned on a Damiki-rigged swimbait to catch their fish. Similar to the leaders, they boated a ton of fish, estimating they culled through 25-30 keepers on an all-day bite.
Gary and Anthony Willis topped off a great start to the season with a third place finish. They cranked up a 20.19 pound tournament limit. Gary noted they did most of their damage early before hitting a mid-day lull. A flurry late in the day gave them a couple of crucial culls to push them into the top three for the day.
Big bass honors went to the team of Eric and Gavin White. They padded their 6th place check with the NAPA big bass award. Their hawg pushed the scales to 7.69 pounds after hitting a rock crawler near Cape Fair early in the day.
James Brown and John Campbell also collected some extra money as they secured the Top Skeeter honors with an 11th place weight of 16.43 pounds of bass. The spent the day dragging Chompers jigs in brushpiles while fishing from James’ 2020 FXR20 Skeeter boat.
