Team Danek Pops 24 Plus for Second and Points Title!
Krull and West Top 20 Plus for Third!
Conditions were GREAT, (for a February tournament) take off temps were in the low 30’s and air temps never got over 40 degrees. Winds were bitter from the East, spitting sleet just before weigh-in. 33 teams ignored the elements for the Bassing Bob division finale and it turns out the bass also ignored the elements and put on the feed bag!
Taking the top spot today with a Monster sack weighing 25.66 pounds was the team of Nathan Oliver and Jamie Eynard. Nathan and Jamie started their day in the Glaze arm not far from take-off. After working the area for 30 minutes without a bite, the team went to option 2 and ran to the dam area. After working that area till about 10 am, with still no bites, the boys punted again and settled in on the toll bridge area where they focused in transition banks with bigger rock. Success came in a flurry, as the team caught 8 keepers between 10 and noon, with weigh-in fish coming on Spinnerbaits, the A-Rig and a Omega Tackle jig. Then just as fast as the bite started, it quit, but the damage was done and the team packed it in a half hour early. Nathan and Jamie are sponsored by Omega Custom Tackle, Bassing Bob, Merten’s Bait and Tackle and Tombstone Tackle.
Finishing in the Second spot today was the team of Scott and Scott Danek. The Nitro/Mercury powered team pointed their boat down lake stopping in the toll bridge area where Team Danek slung the A-Rig all day. The team caught several keepers on an all day bite with their best 5 weighing an impressive 24.26 pounds. Included in their bag was the Ozark Chevrolet Big Joe Bass weighing 7.33 pounds.
Team Daneks second place finish secured the Division Points Championship with 537 points 15 points ahead of second place. Scott and Scott will have their entry to the Table Rock invitational paid by Joe Bass and will be boat #1 for the 2019 season.
Finishing in the Bronze position today was the team of Randy Krull and Greg West. Fishing the Dam area to the Gravois arm the Chompers, Mercury, Phoenix and Triton sponsored team found success with Spinnerbaits, Stickbaits and Chompers catching 12 keepers on the day, with their best 5 weighing 20.63 pounds.
33 teams, 16 limits, 110 fish weighed 345.48 pounds with a 100% live release!!!
