ANOTHER SKEETER OWNER $1000 BLACKBEARD MARINE WINNER
39 teams were greeted to a beautiful spring day on which to kick off the 2026 Antique Division. Dock talk suggested most of the bass had completed their annual spawning ritual with the bigger fish hard to find. Such proved to be the case, as a four pound plus kicker was needed to move to the top of the Window World Leaderboard. As always, every keeper boated gleaned teams qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held this fall on Truman Lake.
Jay Oliver and Aaron Hodge got the 2026 season off to a great start by taking the inaugural win. Their best five bass for the day pushed the scales to 20.62 pounds. They anchored their bag with the Wilson Truck Sales big bass of the day, a stout 5.39 pound largemouth they caught on an A-rig. They noted their Maybee Insurance key to success was mixing an A-Rig with a minnow bait presentation. KGB Swimbaits has stepped up its support of the Antique Division by providing a custom swimbait to the team weighing in the largest bass of the event, a perk that Jay and Aaron will undoubtedly put to good use in upcoming Table Rock events! In addition, KGB Swimbaits will also be providing a lure for the big bass winners at this falls Joe Bass Invitational.
Cody and Shannon Huff wrangled the follow up spot by catching a solid bag that weighed 17.40 pounds. With the Table Rock Division kicking off in a few days, details were a bit tough to come by, but Cody suggested he followed the third place team of Jacob Wade and Robbie Dodson, flipping XPS soft plastics to catch fish they missed!
As noted, Jacob Wade teamed with local stick Robbie Dodson to round out the podium position. Keeping details under their hat, they offered their fish came flipping a jig on an all day bite. Jacob noted they had to work through over a dozen keepers to upgrade to their final weight.
Terry Hutchison and Jason Coley added to their 7th place check by taking the Top Skeeter award. They fished spoons to boat 14.50 pounds of T Rock bass. They leveraged the fantastic support of Blackbeard Marine to win an additional $500 as they fished from Terry’s brand new 2026 FX21 Blackbeard Marine Skeeter.
