Lake of the Ozarks Was breezy and very tough to find a big bite. On our 2nd Stop of the Joe Bass Team Trail Ozarks Division Sponsored By Motion Fishing the teams were greeted with a calm and beautiful morning with temps around 35 degrees at take off. By mid morning the winds picked up and and the small fish bite was on fire.
Coming in hot for the year and in 1st for the day is the Team of Bobby Roberts and Wesley Meyers with a total weight of 14.29lbs. Bobby Stated they fished mostly main pockets that didn’t have to much wind in them. The Team caught most of their fish today on a Motion Fishing Finesse jig and a wacky rigged senko paired with a 6’10 mlxf St Croix Legend Tournament spinning rod in 4 to 8 foot of water with 57- 60 degree water temps. Our 2nd Place team for the day is the Team of Mike Thomas and Jeff Lane with a total weight of 13.31lbs. Jeff Stated they never got more than 5 miles from the take off ramp in either direction all day long, and had found 58 degree water temperatures. Jeff said they used a jig and creature baits to get the limit of largemouth and that the bite they had was very light. They Targeted mostly fishing in 4 to 8 foot of water on the sunny side of the pocket that they fished. This team would like to thank Okuma for the sponsorship they proved them.
Rounding out our top 3 is the Team of Bryan Loseman and Gary Martens with a total weight of 13.30lbs. Gary stated they had a limit by 8am and caught 15 keepers for the day. This team also fished near Shawnee bend boat ramp in the backs of creeks in 57 to 58 degree water temps with soft plastics. Gary and Bryan would like to Thank Window World for the sponsorship.
Our NAPA Big Bass of the tournament goes to the team of Jason Weast and Brian Mckarty. Jason Stated they caught the 5.58lb Ozark Giant on a jig at 10:30am in 5 foot of water.
