Threats of heavy rain and storms did not materialize for the 2020 Whites Marine Center season opener on Pomme de Terre lake. 66 teams showed up to fish irregardless of the weather forecasts.
Taking 1st place fishing from his Phoenix boat Dusty Richardson and partner Robert Shakelford weigh in the best 5 out of 25-30 keepers weighing 19.92 lbs anchored with a 4.99 lber. They report fishing Eiron Breaker lure jigs at shallow targets in the Pomme arm. Sponsors Phoenix boats, Mercury, McAllister Marine, Cox Collison, Hazy Dazy Lures,, Fin & Feather, and their wives.
Second went to Whites Marine Center sponsored team Bill Dennis and Steve Olive. They report fishing homemade jigs and brush hogs in the Lindy arm culling through 20+ keepers for their best five weighing 19.73lbs.
Reigning Division Champions Mike Rogers and Donnie Crist fished from Mikes 2020 Skeeter for third. Their best five weighed 19.24lbs reportedly caught on jigs and brush hogs in the Pomme arm.
Father and son duo Matt and Gage Gunter weigh in the Ozark Chevrolet Big Bass of 6.20lbs. It was caught by Matt on a brush hog in the Lindy arm. Sponsors include Gunter Beef farms, Rains Ice Service, Whites Marine Center.
The new managers of The Harbor stopped by and visited with me at this event and apologized for not having the proper tags in the launch payment envelopes. Lets continue to support the facility and pay those launch fees.
