05/16/26 Pomme

34 teams gathered at The Harbor to battle it out in the second event of the 2026 Joe Bass Team Trail Pomme de Terre division sponsored by TNT Quick Stop. A hard pull down had dispersed the muddy water from the upper stretches of the lake throughout the lower section, providing decent color throughout. A plethora of bass fry confirmed that post spawn conditions were in full effect, causing some concern with the possibility of a big stringer that would put their names at the top of the Window World Leaderboard.

Veterans Greg Askew and Terry Case proved the big ones are still around as their five fish limits strained the scales to a final weight of 20.46 pounds. Greg shared their TNT Quick Stop key to success started with a limit by 11:00am flipping jigs shallow. Once they had five in the boat, they backed out a little deeper on the same areas to drag football jigs and a Carolina rig to upgrade to their winning weight. Included in the upgrade was the Wilson Logistics big bass of the event, a monster 6.24 pound largemouth. Greg and Terry are proud to represent Case Works.

Mike Johnson and Justin Angel landed a second-place finish with an18.21 bag. They started the day catching bass on a floating worm before switching to jigs and brush hogs flipped to shallow cover getting bites throughout the rest of the day. They added to their second-place check by taking Top Skeeter honors as they fished from their 2021 ZXR20 Skeeter boat.

Scott and Brandon Hill used their vast experience of post spawn derbies on Pomme to take the final podium spot. Their five fish limits locked in at 17.64 pounds. Scott noted they relied on an early topwater bite using buzz baits and Spooks. They continued to catch keepers throughout the day, catching around 30 keepers for the day. Team Hill appreciates the support they get from Caymas Boats.
