Kyle and Tom Alsop solved the puzzle by bringing 20.42 pounds of Truman bass to the scales. Tom shared their Valley Transmission Shop key to success was dragging plastics on main lake points. Kyle added they caught 15 keepers scattered throughout the day. Team Alsop enjoys the support of Shoreline Fiberglass, Gamakatsu, Spro, Sunline, AFTCO.
John Bennett and Darrell Reach logged another top finish on Truman. Their runner-up weight locked in at 19.33 pounds. Darrell said they mixed a spinnerbait with a lizard, sticking to their time-proven tactic of combining a moving bait with a jig or plastic to trigger strikes. John and Darrell are happy to represent Olathe Bass Pro Shops, Nitro Boats, Albers Marine, Inc, Mercury Motors and That’s a Good Fish website.
Ron Peek went solo to round out the top three spots. Ron stuck to his tried-and-true brush hog pitched to shallow cover to bag 18.65 pounds. A good chunk of his weight came from the Wilson Logistics big bass of the event, a monster 7.56 pound largemouth.
Joe Bass Pro staffers Timmy Newberry and Rusty Darnell added to their 9th place check taking Top Skeeter honors for the day. They put 16.01 pounds of fish in the live wells of Timmy’s ZX225 Skeeter.
Thank you Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC for sponsoring the release boat!
