06/01/24 Table Rock

Given the quality of stringers brought in during the Antique Division on Wednesday, teams took off from Ahoy’s feeling like they would need a strong bag to contend during the third derby in the 2024 Table Rock division.  With 37 limits weighed, those feelings were justified!  It took over 14 pounds to cash a check and get one’s name on the Window World Leaderboard, yet every fish still counts towards valuable qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next fall.

Local sticks Cody Huff and Greg Blair bested the field with their 17.76 stringer.  They shared their Chompers key to success paired a Missile Baits Ike’s Mini Flip jig tipped with a Rapala Crush City craw with a Missile Baits Magic Worm.  They flipped shallow and got a few on the worm LiveScoping in the center of the same hollows where they found their shallow fish.

Aaron Hodge followed up a great day on Wednesday as he and partner James Bailey took second place honors.  Their best five bass weighed in at 17.47 pounds.  They pounded a topwater bite to catch 15 keepers.  The majority of their damage was done by 1:00pm, as the break in the clouds stifled the topwater bite.

Cole Findley and Jeff Barrickman wrangled a third place finish on the back of their 16.64 limit.  Their bag included the  NAPA  big bass of the day, a lunker 5.83 largemouth. Cole shared they combined a topwater bite with flipping bushes.  They had most of their weight early but noted they caught fish throughout the day.

Kelly Jones and Roger Satterfield added to their 7th place check and 2nd big bass (5.76 pounds) with the Top Skeeter honors.  The veteran team put 15.28 pounds of bass into Kelly’s 2019 FX21 bassboat.

Special thanks to Chompers, Window World , NAPA , Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC  and Skeeter Boats  for another fantastic tournament!
