The third event of the 2024 Truman division saw 71 teams launch with the hopes of finding their names at the top of the Window World Leaderboard. To do so, anglers had to deal with a rapidly dropping lake, oppressive heat and what had been reported as a stingy bite. By the end of the day, the Truman anglers brought 30 limits to the scales while others leaned on the notion that every fish counts approach towards qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next fall on Table Rock Lake was in high gear.
Kenny Sloan and Brendon Mick were kings of the mountain as their five fish limit tallied 20.60 pounds. Having a kicker is a key ingredient to a good finish, but Kenny and Brendon took that to the max as their Napa big bass of the day pushed the scales to a staggering 7.15 pounds! Kenny and Brendon said their Hobbytime Motorsports key to success was slinging big worms, focusing on shallow cover between 1’ and 6’ deep.
Jordan Williams and Trevor Bartlett continued their strong season with a runner up finish with a 19.91 pound bag. They noted they struggled for bites, but they made up for that in quality. They kept a jig in their hands all day, flipping shallow cover to catch their fish.
Eric and Ben Zuk rounded out the top three. It should be no surprise Team Zuk found success with a brush hog and worm, boating a solid limit that weighed 18.55 pounds. Eric explained they locked in a main lake flat, catching their fish between 3’ and 10’ deep.
Bryan and Darren Baker added to their 9th place finish by taking Top Skeeter honors as they put 15.82 pounds of Truman bass in Bryan’s 2015 FX20 Skeeter.
