High waters and high temps made for tough fishing on the waters of Stockton Lake, home of the Mitchem Tire Joe Bass Team Trail event. Those that found the fish used varied techniques. The father/son team of Tom and Dillon Statler, Kimberling City, MO, sponsored by Chompers, Mercury, Nitro, and the owner of our Open Division sponsor, CHAMPIONSHIP MARINE. The team used carolina rigs with chompers lizards and french fries to bring in a 5 fish limit that weighed 15.28lbs.
Danny Shinneman, Kearney, MO, and Mike Cooley, Kansas City, MO used jigs to catch 4 fish that weighed 12.23lbs. for 2nd Place. They also had a 5.76lbs largemouth to earn the team the OZARK CHEVROLET BIG BASS of the Day.
Matt Garrett, Everton, MO, and Kaleb Rook, Lamar, MO, sponsored by Missouri Welding Institute, used jigs and top water to bring in 5 fish that weighed 11.98lbs. This earned them 3rd Place.
Brock Reinkemeyer used his 2008 Skeeter to get the Top finishing Skeeter of the day with his teams’ 6th Place finish.
July 13th is the next Stockton tournament and will be held at Ruark Bluff. Take off is at 6am weighin is at 3pm. It should be noted the July 13th is a make up date and is on a Saturday.
