70 teams turned out at Orleans Trail Marina to enjoy a hot and humid day on Stockton Lake. Conditions were hot with light wind and high skies. Nonetheless, social distancing was practiced with limiting the bags and spacing the tanks the teams brought in 237 fish.
Topping the field was the team of Chris Macy, Diamond, MO and Tim Lawyer, La Russell, MO. They brought in five fish that pushed the scales to a winning weight of 16.87 pounds. Tim noted their Sport Boats USA Key to Success was using jigs deep around structure. Chris and Tim also brought in a 5.20 pound bass to earn the OZARK CHEVROLET Big Bass of the Day.
The father/son or in this case the son/father team of Ben Saubers, Butler, MO, and Nick Saubers, Adrian, MO, sponsored by Bass Cat and Mercury, brought in a 5 fish limit right behind the winners that weighed 16.80pounds. Ben stated deep dragging was the way for them to go and find their fish.
The third-place team was David Hughes, Overland Park, KS and Lucas Fornelli, Mound City, KS brought in 5 fish that weighed 15.82 pounds. They used the big worms deep to find their fish.
Joe Bass Team Trail Pro Staff Dan Cox and Tim Kastning fished out of Dan’s ZX 190 to earn them the top finishing Skeeter of the day.
The next event in the 2020 Stockton Division will be August 9th at Orleans Trail with a 6:00am takeoff.
