What a confusing summer with lakes at all time highs and fishermen are scratching their heads trying to find where the fish are hiding. With water temps in the high 70’s the Joe Bass Team Trail anglers were able to find some of these fish.
Luke Routh, Humansville, MO and Tyler Weaver, Fair Play, MO, sponsored by Buzz’s Market, used top water baits early then switched to jigs as the day went forward to find 5 quality fish for 15.00lbs total weight. The team stated that most of their fish were early and the bite seemed to quit by 11am.
Scott Tassi, and Glen Harrison, both of Arma, KS, sponsored by Albers Marine, 5X3 Fishing, Denali Rods, Nitro, Mercury, Thats a Good Fish, WOO Tungsten and Xtraction Lures, Caught a 5 fish limit that weighed 12.86lbs. Scott stated they used big worms from 6-18ft to find their fish. He stated it was a tough day that didn’t provide many bites.
The father/son team of Robert and Kris Shackleford, Willard, Mo, sponsored by Hazey Daze Lures fished jigs up in the river portion of the lake to get a limit that weighed 12.38lbs. This earned the team 3rd Place.
Jim Davidson and Mike Ashbacher, both of Arma, KS, sponsored by ALBERS MARINE, Mercury, Nitro, ProGuide Batteries, Lews and War Eagle, caught a 4.75lbs Largemouth that earned the team the OZARK CHEVROLET BIG BASS of the Day.
Brock Reinkemeyer, Lone Jack, MO fished out of his 2008 SKEETER 20I. His team had a 5 fish limit that weighed 9.91lbs that earned him and his father the JOE BASS TOP FINISHING SKEETER.
