07/21/24 Truman

The fourth event of the 2024 Truman division saw 62 teams launch with the hopes of finding their names at the top of the Window World  Leaderboard. They were greeted by tolerable temperatures, at least from a July perspective. Anglers found a good bite, as over half the field weighed a five fish limit. Quality was there as well, as 20 bass over four pounds were weighed. Several teams had more than one that would top that mark, while others weighed what the lake gave them to gain qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next fall on Table Rock Lake.

Desmond Carl and Tyler Glenn had their picture taken with the 1st place plaques, courtesy of the 20.45 pounds they dropped on the weigh-in scales. Desmond and Tyler shared their Hobbytime Motorsports key to success was combining a square bill with brushhogs. They stayed shallow, catching their fish in the 4’-8’ depth range, scattering their five best bites throughout the day.

Reigning points champions Bryce Reider and Mike Edrington proved their mettle with a solid second place finish. Working brush hogs and a 10” worm 6’-8’ deep, Bryce and Mike boated an 18.53 pound limit of Truman bass.

Jordan Williams and Trevor Bartlett logged another money finish to add to their run during the 2024 Truman division season. Their July results logged in with a five fish limit weighing 16.85 pounds. They stayed shallow all day, with the bass finding their jig presentation to their liking.

Tom VanKeirsblick and Brian Rodrock fell one fish short of a five fish limit. However, included in their four fish bag was the NAPA  big bass of the day. Tom and Brian’s 5.18 pound largemouth bit a jig dropped over 25’ of water with the lunker suspended 10’ down.

Joe Bass staffers Timmy Newberry and Rusty Darnell padded their 6th place finish by taking Top Skeeter honors by putting 16.29 pounds of Truman bass in Timmy’s 2009 ZX225 Skeeter.

Special thanks to Hobbytime Motorsports, Lakes Inn, Truman Lake Fishing Intel, NAPA , Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC, and Skeeter Boats  for their fantastic sponsorship! Support our sponsors, their support is invaluable to the trail.
