09/07/24 Table Rock

Time’s metronome supposedly swings at a steady pace, but it sure feels like the 2024 Table Rock Divisional season has flashed by.  48 teams gathered at Ahoy’s to celebrate the end of the season and found the fishing tough.  The September “funk” is in full effect and with the nice weather, the big boats made getting around a challenge.  While only 12 limits were brought to the scales, which made it hard to move up the Window World Leaderboard, every fish counts towards final qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next month.

Justin Garner and Jacob Wade finished the season on a high note as their five fish limit weighing 15.07 pounds gave them the victory.  Justin and Jacob’s Chompers key to success was slinging a 7” Extreme glide bait all day.  Staying shallow with the larger bait also produced the NAPA  big bass of the day, a lunker 4.50 largemouth.

Dan Stone and Brandon Holt were close behind with a 14.41 pound sack.  They also chose to stay shallow, teaming a topwater approach with a glide bait to catch their fish.

Kyle and John Wagner wrapped up the top three.  Their five fish limit locked in at 13.44 pounds.  They took a different approach from the rest of the podium finishers, as they concentrated on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and an opportunistic topwater bite to draw strikes.  Team Wagner added to their take home money as they took Top Skeeter honors.

Special thanks to Chompers, Window World , NAPA , Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC  and Skeeter Boats  for another fantastic tournament!

The Last Chance event provides teams that need another event to meet qualifications standards a chance to check the box while combining a bit of prefishing for the Invitational.  This year’s tournament will take place Saturday September 21 at 7:00 am and will launch from Rock Lane Resort & Marina.
