An incredible 70 degree spring-like day greeted the 46 teams that gathered for the second derby of the 2026 Joe Bass Team Trail Table Rock division sponsored by Blackbeard Marine. The warm weather and lack of wind for most of the day made the big bite elusive but the anglers still weighed over 435 pounds of T-Rock bass for the day. It took north of 16 pounds to cash a check and find your name near the top of the Window World leaderboard. However, as always, every fish weighed provides qualifying points for the Invitational on Truman Lake out of Bucksaw Resort & Marina next fall.
No strangers to the pinnacle position, Eric and Dustin Blevins rocked the field with a five fish limit that locked the scales at 20.90 pounds. Their “official” Blackbeard Marine key for success was keying on bass relating to shad schools over 70’-80’ of water with a minnow bait. However, given the weather conditions and their past history, one wonders if they spent the day grinding a bill off a Wart or Rock Crawler. Either way, Dustin and Eric’s bag was anchored by the Wilson Truck Sales big bass of the event, a monster 6.03-pound kicker.
Another stout Ozark team, Drew Sagely and Brock Becks, secured the runner up position. They dropped a limit on the scales that weighed 17.42 pounds. Drew noted they went old school, targeting shallow docks on flat banks with a jig while catching over two dozen keepers on an all day bite. They also boated one of their keepers on a topwater alongside a shallow dock.
Caleb Coleman and Robert Moody teamed up to round out the top three. Their best five bass pushed the scales to 17.03 pounds. Caleb shared they caught their fish on a minnow bait, boating 25 keepers on the pattern. He added they found their fish shallow in less than 20’ of water. The morning bite was key for Caleb and Robert as they had their weight in the boat before noon when the bite fizzled.
Dillon Robertson and Chance Freed added to their 8th place check by taking Top Skeeter honors as they fished from their 2017 FX20 Skeeter. Dillon said they scoped their fish, finding fish roaming open water with all of their weight coming after noon.
