02/08/25 Table Rock

After a cycle of nasty weather in January that forced the rescheduling of the first Blackbeard Marine Table Rock Division event, 51 teams descended on the Port of Kimberling take off site with hopes of a strong finish.  Dock talk centered on a good suspended bite to compliment a brushpile approach.  With everyone shooting for a chance to see their names atop the Window World leaderboard, it’s always important to remember that every fish provides qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held next fall.

Justin Garner and Jacob Wade teamed up to take top honors at the kick off event with a five fish limit that locked the scales at 22.57 pounds.  Team Double J reported their Blackbeard Marine key for the day was suspending jerkbaits over shallow cover.  Variety was a key factor as some of their fish wanted the bait moving fairly steadily while others wanted it motionless.

Local phenoms Wyatt Marler and Cody Huff shared a boat to pull down the runner up position.  They used a 6.38 pound kicker to anchor their 21.82 limit of T-Rock bass.  The duo concentrated on umbrella rigs worked over brushpiles to get their bites.

Landon Edwards and Cody Ellison continued their hot streak with the final podium position.  They put 21.62 pounds of fish in the boat to narrowly miss a second place finish.  Landon and Cody padded their take home pay with the Top Skeeter check as they put their limit in the livewell of Landon’s 2013 ZX21 Skeeter.

Brandon and Rhett hill complimented their 8th place finish by boating the Impel Union big bass of the event, a monster 7.47 pounder that gave them a total weight of 18.33 pounds.  Their lunker fell to a Damiki rigged minnow bait.

Special thanks to Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC for sponsoring the release boat!
