Once again, the passage of a dangerous front presented the 19 teams that braved the elements with heavy rain and a lake on a quick rise. With the weather forcing cancelations on neighboring lakes, the rescheduling of the Joe Bass Antique derby earlier in the week, and preventing many teams from prefishing, anglers were unsure of what patterns might be present to push them to the top of the Window World leaderboard. Nonetheless, all launched with hopes of a win in the Blackbeard Marine Table Rock Division while racking up qualifying points for the Invitational this fall on Truman Lake out of Bucksaw Marina and Resort.
Caleb Coleman and Robert Moody took top honors with a staggering 25.90-pound sack of Table Rock Bass. Caleb and Robert reported their Blackbeard Marine key for the day was mixing a minnow bait with a spinnerbait on transition banks leading to spawning pockets.
Justin Garner and Jacob Wade continued their hot streak with another runner up finish. Their five bass limit pushed the scales to 24.01 pounds. Just as they did last month, they anchored their big sack with the Impel Union big bass of the event, a 7.36-pound giant. They also combined a minnow bite with an a-rig to boat their fish.
Brandon and Rhett Hill rounded out the podium finishers with a solid 18.74-pound stringer. Maintaining the trend of the top finishers, they also chose a Damiki rig along with an A-Rig to trigger bites.
Jeff Epley paired with Blackbeard Marine ace Danny Burns to take Top Skeeter honors. They put 18.66 pounds of T-Rock bass in Jeff’s Blackbeard Marine 2024 FXR21 Skeeter.
