Although the rain had stopped, 42 teams were greeted with crisp temperatures for the takeoff from Port of Kimberling as they continued the battle in the Blackbeard Marine Table Rock Division. Results of the Antique division the Wednesday prior showed that numbers could likely be caught, but to see one’s name atop of the Window World leaderboard would require a kicker or two. Notwithstanding, each fish weighed results in qualifying points for the Invitational this fall on Truman Lake out of Bucksaw Marina and Resort.
At the end of the day, Brett and Steve Rider came out on top with a runaway victory. They dropped 19.08 pounds of T-Rock bass on the scales to take the win. Brett and Steve shared their Blackbeard Marine key for the day was mixing a glide bait with a jig and chunk trailer to draw strikes from 15-20 keepers throughout the day. They used the Impel Union big bass of the event, a 5.04 kicker to push them to the top. Brett and Steve are sponsored by B&B Spray Foam Insulation.
Camden and Mike Kozikoski finished second place with a 14.41 pound bag. They combined a wobble head with a minnow bite to catch over 50 fish on an all-day bite. They added to their winnings by taking Top Skeeter honors as they fished from Camden’s 2024 Skeeter.
Ed Larson teamed with Ryan Groetere to round out the top three. Ed and Ryan stuck with a flipping approach in the bushes to boat 14.26 pounds. Ed noted they leaned on a Chompers Flipping Jig with a trailer dipped with chartreuse dye. Ed mentioned Ryan found it easier to apply the dye to the Skeeter’s carpet then dip the trailer into the carpet! Ed and Ryan enjoy the support of Chompers and Joe Bass Team Trails.
