05/30/26 Stockton

29 teams were charged with cracking the code on Stockton Lake which had received several rounds of storms leading up to tournament day. Water clarity was the big issue, with some of the hollows getting a little flush from run off while the Little Sac arm received a deluge of Ozark orange mud and trash. The south end of the lake had a bit of color with the backs of the creeks starting to clear. These conditions formed the battleground for the second derby of the 2026 Stockton sponsored by Albers Marine, Inc. Teams would have to face the current conditions along with another round of storms followed by clear skies on tournament day to push their way to the top of the Window World Leaderboard.

Bringing the Coike crazy to Stockton, Matt Rogers and Connor Cunningham brought a monster bag of Stockton fish to the scales. Their best five strained the scales to a final weight of 21.83 pounds. They shared their Albers Marine key to success was pairing the Coike with a Damiki rig in the front half of several coves, concentrating on areas with shad present. Their sack included the second big bass of the event, a lunker 6.02 brute that hit a minnow bait. They made hay while the sun didn’t shine, noting things got tough after the clouds dispersed.

Josh King and Logan Welch took the runner up spot with a strong 19.30 pound limit. They also leaned on a kicker fish, a 6.26 monster that landed them the Wilson Logistics big bass of the event. Josh and Logan spent the day dragging a football jig around isolated brush. They enjoyed a day-long bite, including the big fish that bit around noon.

ANOTHER $1000.00 SKEETER WINNER! Mark and Luke Thompson came in a distant third. They relied on chatterbaits and spinnerbaits to bring in a five fish limit that locked in at 13.94 pounds. Mark noted their better fish came after the clouds broke with the sun pushing them into trash piles in the backs of a few muddy pockets up river. They added to their third place check by taking Top Skeeter honors for the day which included an additional $500 match from Blackbeard Marine as they fished from Mark’s 2026 Blackbeard Marine  ZXE20 Skeeter
