06/21/25 Pomme

A trifecta of summertime heat, a strong southwest wind and a pond full of waverunners and pleasure boats made for some challenging conditions as 42 teams departed The Harbor in hopes of making their way to the top of the Window World Leaderboard. The fishing proved to be as hot as the weather as 34 limits were brought to the scales. A tip of the hat is in order to the Pomme anglers as 99% of the fish were weighed alive, showing that diligent fish care during the summer months does have an impact on the resource. While every ounce matters when battling for a check, it also adds to one’s qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held this fall on Truman Lake.

David Mulkey and Tyler Weaver came out on top of a highly contested battle for the win. They put five bass on the scales that weighed 17.97 pounds. David and Tyler explained their TNT Quick Stop key to success was keeping a flipping rod in their hands all day. They mixed in a muskie and catfish on their bush pattern but still managed to get to five keeper bass before day’s end.

Kelly Jones and Roger Satterfield continued a spectacular 2025 season by garnering the runner up position. Their bag locked in at 17.55 pounds, just short of another win. Kelly noted their fish came on their favorite jig early in the day. Roger shared details on his boat, as the duo took another Top Skeeter award by fishing from Roger’s 2022 ZXR21.

Pomme aces Scott and Brandon Hill rounded out the top three. They also just missed the win as their five fish limit pushed the scales to 17.32 pounds. Scott noted they managed 5 bites throughout the day on a jig. All five of their fish came from the same spot which they had to revisit multiple times to fill out their limit.

Kelly Nunn and Jamie Duncan anchored their fourth place sack of 16.74 pounds with the Impel Union big bass of the day. The 5.47 pound largemouth fell to a big jig.

Jeff Bear reaped the benefits of turning in a Crush City lure package as he was drawing for the Rapala prize pack!

Thank you Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC for sponsoring the release boat!
