07/30/25 Antique

Technically the dog days of summer are considered to be in August, but given the lengthy stretch of hot weather, the dogs are already in the shade under the front porch! That didn’t stop 31 teams from giving it a go during the next-to-last Antique event of the 2025 season. Overall, the numbers were strong, with half of the field weighing a five fish limit. It usually takes a kicker to push a team to the top of the Window World Leaderboard, but as always, every keeper boated gleans teams qualifying points for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held this fall on Truman Lake. With the season nearing its finale, teams were on the hunt for a good finish.

Experience is always a valuable tool in a tournament fisherman’s bag, and there’s not many teams with more time on Table Rock than Pete Wenners and Brian Snowden. They caught a tournament limit that weighed 17.82 pounds. Given their big fish was a tick under four pounds, it’s clear they had a solid sack top to bottom. Pete and Brian Division noted their Maybee Insurance & T-Bone Trucking key to success was targeting cover on structure in 10-20’ of water with big worms and football jigs.

Clay and Jay Henderson returned to weigh in with 16.63 pounds. They also leaned on big worms and football jigs to secure the runner up spot. Team Henderson found their fish a bit further out as they got bites in the 20-25’ range.

Ed Larson and John Williams rounded out the top three. They used Chompers Flippin Jigs to catch a limit that gave them a final weight of 16.61 pounds. Helping them get to that weight was the Impel Union big bass of the day, a giant 6.29 pound largemouth. They padded their 3rd place check $1000.00 by taking the Top Skeeter award, along with an additional bonus as Ed purchased his ZXR21 from Blackbeard Marine.
