08/03/25 Stockton

Anglers finally caught a break from the hot weather as mild temperatures greeted the 29 teams that launched from Orleans Trail Resort & Marina for the fourth contest of the year. Recent fishing reports suggested a tough bite, meaning every catch would be not only important for a team to find their name at the top the Window World  Leaderboard, but also for qualifying points for the upcoming Joe Bass Invitational to be held in October on Truman Lake out of Bucksaw Resort and Marina.

Matthew Rogers and Connor Cunningham topped the field by bringing 14.64 pounds of bass to the scales. They noted their Albers Marine key to success was moving around as they found their fish scattered. They caught two early up shallow but had to back out to 15-20’ of water to finish their limit. All of their fish, both shallow and deep, came on a jig.

Josh King and Logan Welch took the runner up position with a limit that weighed 13.04 pounds. They offered they caught their limit early then had their bite shut off. They concentrated on main lake points with a worm.

Currents point champions Chris Macy and Tim Lawyer rounded out the top three. Their limit of fish locked the scales at 12.82.

Gerald McDaniel and Ron Hill added to their 4th place finish by taking top Skeeter honors as they put 12.62 pounds of bass in Gerald’s 2024 ZXR250.

Shawn and Reese Crabtree made the most of a last minute bite as Reese landed the Impel Union big bass award with a 4.34 largemouth.

The final Stockton division tournament will launch from Orleans Trail September 7th at 7:00 am
