09/20/25 Pomme

After a season that started with cool temperatures and high water levels, followed by summertime boat traffic and stifling heat, the teams faced low water levels for the season finale. As always, anglers were hopeful of coming out on top of the Window World Leaderboard at day’s end but also sought a last shot at qualifying for the Joe Bass Invitational to be held this fall on Truman Lake. On what turned out to be a tough day of fishing, having five in the tank was critical, as was having a kicker to offset one’s weight from the remainder of the field.

Greg Askew and Terry Case topped off a tremendous Pomme de Terre season with another win. Greg and Terry’s TNT Quick Stop key to success was a bit different in terms of location as they couldn’t reach their normal haunt due to low water. However, they adjusted by running the opposite direction then leaned on their typical Senko and jig presentation to boat 14.63 pounds of bass. A 4.76 pound kicker pushed them to the top. Greg and Terry are proud to represent Case Works.

Ron Belew and Derek Dace used a 4.82 pound anchor fish to get to the 13.82 mark and a second place finish. Ron and Derek mixed a shaky head presentation with a topwater bite to get to their tournament limit.

Zachary Cooley and Nick Borchers rounded out the top three. They used a 4.25 pounder to boost them to a 13.77 final weight. They relied on a mix of topwater and squarebills to catch their fish. They bolstered their 3rd place check by taking Top Skeeter honors. Zach and Nick are sponsored by Joe Bass Team Trails.

Gary and Don Cox used the Impel Union big bass of the day, a monster 5.43 pounder, to complement their 4th place overall finish. The big fish fell to a big worm.

Thank you Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet, Buick & GMC for sponsoring the release boat!
